Alexander Mcqueen, Spring 2010 Collection Sketch, 2010
The design presented above was one of McQueen's last before his death. His visionary works transformed the fashion industry into something above average. The elements that I see are color and value. This sketch consists of many shades of the color brown. From the top of the design, to the very end of it, the color brown is used in a unique matter. Value can also be seen with the levels of brown. It seems that a light yellow is used in the center of the garments, and as it slowly progresses it changes into brown.
The principles I notice are emphasis and unity. The face of the women sketched in this is very powerful. In fact, without the garments on her, it would still be considered a work of art. The black circles covering her eyes, I believe is the emphasis. It seems like a dark world, and a dark set of eyes looking outward at the world. Unity is presented by the top and bottom garment. Without the top, this would not be complete. The same goes for the bottom part. With the two pieces of garments, this design seems complete.
Ahh javyy, your always chosing these paintings that just make you want to jump into the computer screen and touch them! >.< but anyways i think Alexander showed tons of texture don't you think? like i said and just touch this work of art. Another thing he showed was a lot of shape that sort of added a double meaning to the picture if you pay close attention to it. but anyways good job javy i love ittt<3/
